Komet 80 ... sounds interesting!

Re: Komet 80 ... sounds interesting!

I have a friend who has a Komet. Another guy I know has said for many years the best sounding amp he has ever heard was a trainwreck. I Have much confidence in their opinions. I have not played through this Komet yet. But I bet it sounds amazing. My buddy who owns it said it is the best sounding Amp he has ever heard!! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!

The Komet amps are beatutifully made, esp the Constellation 30.
I've never played one, but I have played a Trainwreck before.

I dunno, Young Angus, I think I'd rather have your Komet 60. It's hard to say without hearing them side by side, but with a good OD pedal the Komet should really sing.
How do you like yours? Loud?

regardless of how many they make, or how good they sound, I would think it's a bit of a moot point if you think your 60 watt is already loud ;)

Sounds good. I just checked out the sound section of their site and #9 is a trainwreck. You won't get closer to Leslie Wests tone. In fact Leslies uses an original trainwreck. I think his is built into a Fender box or maybe it's a modified Fender. I'm not sure exactly what a trainwreck is, but I thinks it's like a subwoofer in that it has massive bass. He uses it with his Marshalls. Leslie is a Marhsall player. Even if his is in Fender box, he's quoted as saying "Fenders are for cars."

Hell im not thinking of buying one hahaha i absolutely love my komet 60 and it didnt even cross my mind that i might want an 80...well maybe once which i dismissed very quickly...but never instead of the 60. Nah i love my 60, and yeah it sings even without a pedal ;)

I love mine, and soon ill get an attenuator and then hopefully a cab of more vintage low wattage speakers for it and it'll be HUGE!

I just thought the 80 would be interesting for others as it was when i just found out they were making one...just because its another komet. I would however like one of those constellations one day....:D
