KORG Pitchblack vs Pitchblack Mini vs Pitchblack Custom

1) What are the differences between these three pedals? Is there difference in pitch recognition time and accuracy? Mini seems appealing due to its small footprint if it works the same with others.

2) How do polytuners work? So how to tune with a poly tuner? You play chords rather than single notes?
Then how to understand which string is outta tune?

Don't know specifics about the Korgs.

Polyphonic tuners work by strumming all strings at once. The tuner will show readout of all strings and identify each as in tune, flat or sharp. Don't know about Korg but the TC Polytune shows as a horizontal row of green led dots. If a string is sharp, a red dot appears above. If flat, a red dot appears below. It works quite well. Only low E is sometimes a little "off" on my TC. It will sometimes show flat in poly mode even though it's to pitch in chromatic or strobe mode. It's good for a quick check but I find that best accuracy depends on how the strings are strummed but it becomes automatic once you figure it out. I could still live without it easily enough but I like it.

You can tune the stings individually with a Polytune as well.

I own the Mini, and it's pretty fantastic. It can even run off a couple of watch batteries which is pretty rare for mini pedals. It's very accurate, and the display is bright and huge.

We also carry the regular Pitch Black at my shop. It's a great tuner, but the only advantages are that you can daisy chain power off of it, and it can take a more standard battery. If you don't care about those features, go Mini for sure.

Anybody played with a Custom yet? I might go look at one tomorrow.

I'm thinking buying PolyTune Mini 2 right now. It looks like a good time saver.

I got the Polytune and its very good, I normally tune one string at a time, but its still very accurate esp with lower tunings. Its nice and bright for those dark stages where you can't see anything (I mainly use it side-stage as a guitar tech for a mate's band) and the display is easy to use. The only Korg tuner I've owned is the TM-40 which is discontinued.

Why don't you use PolyTune feature. Isn't it accurate?

Re: KORG Pitchblack vs Pitchblack Mini vs Pitchblack Custom

I've just been used to doing with one-string at a time since the first digital tuner I had, with the needle, I guess I've just taken it onto whatever new tuner I've got!
