Korina/maple neck for (bolt on) Warmoth korina vip?

I just can't decide whether I should get a korina or a maple neck
for my warmoth Vip korina body.

I'll probably be using brazillian rosewood for the fretboard, but i'm open minded about it

I don't know any guitar manufacturer that use mahogany or korina for bolt on necks... is this enough reason to go for maple?

I know maple = brighter sound + more stable.
korina = warmer fatter sound (similar to mahogany).

I play hard rock, classic rock and pop.Oh, and... the body might be chambered (good idea or not?).

I just want the optimum neck wood for a korina body. Which wood will be best for a bolt on neck?

Any thoughts?

I have a Korina Explorer that sounds great, but it has a maple neck. I think I would have preferred a korina neck though because the sound of korina is so warm and rich. It really comes down to what pickups you're going to put in it and what amp you'll be using.

In my case, I use very bright pickups and amps with darker toned woods (I like the richness paired with the cutting brightness of amp/pups)

I would say go maple if you want to play it safe with a tried/true combo and go korina if you want to take COMPLETE advantage of it's tonal properties.

Is your body all korina?

In that case, I'd say you'd be better off with the maple, to add some brightness to the sound.

If it's got a maple cap, then go for a korina neck since that would make it similar to Les Pauls specs, but with a twist!

Korina, once finished it will look better. Korina is not so dark you need maple in it. Mahogany is darker sounding than Korina and there are plenty of all mahogany guitars out there that sound great (i.e. Gibsons).

Given you're music styles and the body you are going to put on, I would have to say go with Korina as it should give you plenty of sustain. Just to give you an idea I have a Warmoth neck for a strat that I purchased from a fellow member on this forum (Fatty). It is made of Wenge and unfinished and has a brazilian rosewood board on it. I have it on my US Hgy1 strat at the moment - and all I can say is that the whole thing resonates and opens up the body and completely changes the guitar completely. I have not got a picture of the guitar with the neck but here's a couple of pics of the neck just so that you can get an idea.
