Kramer 610/Duncan Designed Question

Hello everyone,
I bought a Kramer 610 from someone on Craigslist, and I'm going to trick it out. I have a question about the Duncan Designed pickups that came stock with this guitar. They have the fake EMG look to them. The humbucker is less than stellar, so I'll be replacing it. My question has to do with the single coils. While I'm sure there are better ones out there, they'll do for now. Only thing is, I'm wondering if I can take those "covers" off and replace them with chrome looking covers. Tons of sellers on eBay have them, and the chrome will compliment the look of the guitar once I'm done with it.

Any thoughts? Thanks. IMG_3854.jpg

If I remember correctly the plastic covers easily come off those and are only cosmetic. They aren't epoxy potted like most active pickups.

You will need to measure the pole spacing for the bridge pickup and find a matching cover. When installing the cover you should lay a thin strip of tape or paper over the slug coil so that the cover doesn't come in contact with the slugs. Then solder the cover to the baseplate so it doesn't rattle and cause microphonics. If you do it well you shouldn't need to repot the pickup. https://www.mojotone.com/guitar-parts/Pickup-Parts
