Kramer Focus 6000

I have a Kramer Focus 6000 with all the original pickups. I am looking to replace the single coil in the neck, and the bridge humbucker pickup. I play mostly blues, classic rock, and EVH is all the heavy metal I play. I am looking for some advice on some replacment pups. Want a creamier, darker tone, that has clear full low end for the humbucker. Any advice on the single coil would be great. The kramer has a rosewood fretboard and I believe a Alder body.

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

The best sounding pickups I've ever heard in my Focus 6000 are the Duncan Invader and DiMarzio Air Zone. One of the reasons I love the Air Zone so much is when you split it, it sounds like the funkiest telecaster ever.

I'm gonna try out a Quarter Pound in the neck of my Kramer, so I'll let you know how that goes.

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

I had a Focus 6000. I am pretty sure they came stock with Seymour Duncans. JB in the bridge and 2 SSL1's...

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

I had a Focus 2K that i purchased new in the mid 80's "shredder era" and it had black SD's dual hb's in it.
Made in Neptune, NJ USA
Great sounding/playing guitar for that type of stuff.

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

No, pickups in those are asian and pretty bland. (made by ESP) I have one. and had a couple others.

Mine has Dimarzio Fast Track 1 in the neck and middle and I have a Duncan Custom 8 in the bridge. Ive used a Custom and custom 5 too and all sound good. The Custom 8 is magic for leads.

Duncan makes tons of great single coils tho, so see what may work for you.

The Focus 6000 is an awesome axe tho!!

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

The Focus guitars were MIJ. Neckplates always have an American address, which is typically the distributor.

I think whether they're stock Duncans depends on when it was made.

Re: Kramer Focus 6000

Exactly the first 2 or 3 years they made a Focus was the Duncans and then they went with ESP's.
