This controversy must be a disaster for Krank, as they're trying to get their name out there.

Pretty much my entire experience with Krank can be summed up on the first two pages of this thread.

Also note that the original thread poster is the same guy I quoted above, and he posted that yesterday.


Personally, I feel no sympathy for them. They chose to solicit business through message boards, they chose to post false reviews to HC, they chose to take pictures of various artists at NAMM, then post pics of them standing beside the amp in an attempt to insinuate that they actually liked and/or played the amp.

If they really wanted to do well, they'd choose to clean up their act.

I share a rehearsal space with a guy with 2 deizels and 2 different deizel cabs. I think the krank sounds better. I know I will get some odd looks but I prefer the keank tone to the deizel although the deizel has way more features.

Bingo! That's the way I felt about the company after finding about their practices a few months ago. I can't believe they'd stoop so low and now this is going to hurt their sales more than ever (I hope anyways).

I hate hearing reviews like that other guy posted. I can only imagine what being ripped on a pretty expensive head must be like. If Krank was really better than Bogner or Diezel, I'm positive we'd have heard more about their stuff by now.

Hmmm well what about the cabinet. I have a Voodoo maodded Mesa and it kicks ass so I am only looking for a cab. What are emminence speakers like? crap or good? Voodoo says gt75s are the best especially for downtuning? I may still get my voodoo cab????

I still think you should sell all the speakers in your Mesa cab, replace them with G-75's on the bottom and Vintage 30's on top, then put a 2 inch thick sheet of Corning insulation on the back panel. That whole thing will probably cost you a couple hundred, after selling the stock speakers, plus your cab will still match your head.

I can't say anything bad about the Krank, although I'd like it more if it were an EL-34 amp rather than 6L6. The Kleen Channel is surprisingly good and sounds better than a Rectifier's clean IMO. The heavy channel is pretty similar to a Rectifier with a little Marshall thrown in. The Krank has one feature I really wish all amps had - a knob that controls the size of the sound. It makes it easy to dial in a smooth shred type tone or a monsterous crushing tone. My only complaints with the amp are the lack of sustain at highgain.....the notes drop off too quick, it's hard to dial in good classic midgain tones, and there's no LED's on the chassis to tell me which channel I'm on, unless I look down at the footswitch, which DOES have LED's.

I'm sure the speaker cabs are top notch, but not too different from Bogner, ENGL, Soldano, Mesa etc. Licensed speakers = budget speakers, so get Celestions.

I got an e-mail from Dimebag yesterday. It seems he's now playing them. That's gotta counter-act the negative publicity from the employee-written reviews.

Having Dimebag endorse them is just the thing Krank needs to get themselves off the ground. I wonder what Randall thinks of this? :smack:
Funny, that the whole time I spent playing the Krank, I kept thinking that it was the perfect amp for someone like Dimebag. It's definitely a crushing gain machine. Kinda like a cheaper Ubershall.

Ordering my cab tomorrow. Black with silver logo and the mirror like grill. Cool. I will be getting a Voodoo cab soon as well. Maybe I will sell the Mesa or one of the others after finding the last peice to the tone search. I have the guitars and the rack etc now the cab is all thats left? Famous last words! LOL

Yes he now uses Krank. Slipknot used the chadwick on the verses of duality and Deftones use the clean channel of the revolution. I just ordered a cab and will give it a reveiw in a couple of weeks.
