Can any tube nerds expound on the tonal qualities of KT88 vs 6L6 or EL34?
I was under the impression that a KT88 was a somewhat more robust 6L6 design with less breakup but similar tonal qualities. But I hear people mention them with EL34 applications.
I have a pair in my Dual Recto along with a pair of KT66 in my power section.
Truth be told I rarely push my DR past noon on the master volume so I imagine my question regarding power tubes is mostly academic, but I am curious.
