LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

Re: LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

Speaking of Surreal Amplification.....very nice! I've always been a fan of the thick plexiglass front panels and creative head shell designs.

Joe

sorry I didn't make it (again)

I just saw the London Pro review that Dan Boul posted, and it sounds awesome ... about $2500 for the head & cab

Re: LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

OH really?
whats his name and when did he pay. Ill look into it. He didnt get his money back from Chris from the old list?

details and Ill fix it.

Honestly I've got no dog in that fight so I'm not going to rehash it... if anything I'd pass word up the chain about the "progress" but generally, any mention of Mark Cameron's name was met with much cursing and mashing of teeth. Not sure how, or what the reaction would be at this point besides being met with complete skepticism and more mashing of teeth.

IIRC the transaction went down either at, or just after the 2008 NY amp show... was said that it'd take a few months to deliver the amp and after a year plus of waiting there was still nothing. Same story that's been told countless times in countless forums by numerous people... again, no need to rehash it.

If ya'll can actually get some amps built, and out into the hands of people and dealers that's great. Beyond excellent really! I wish the best of luck with it, because the CCV is truly a monster... not very "marshall-like" at all IMO but has its own vibe and I dig that.

Suffice to say, as I'm sure you know at this point there's a lot of scorched earth behind the name. Frankly the only way I'd even consider one is if I could walk out of a dealers door with the thing in my hands... again, I wish the best of luck in turning it around.

Gearjoneser, wish you would have said hi at the Line 6 room! Been awhile! If you're coming back Sunday do so!

Greatbob6, on your L6 question. There is no other amp like the DT50. There are 4 models which we call Topologies on it. American Clean, British Crunch, Classic Chime and Modern Hi Gain. The amplifier itself is capable of reconfiguring the power section and instantly rebiasing itself and it's negative feedback based on your choice of options. You have the ability 2 change it from Class A to Class AB and Pentode or Triode, and any combination of those. I can't tell you how many name pro players stopped by to play it and were floored. The amp is completely analog in it's switching capability between these options with the models being the digital aspect. AND when you connect a POD 300/400/500 up to it via our new L6 Link, you have access to all 16 amp models. Again the amp will reconfigure itself based on how you have setup your patch on the POD HD. The 2 channel DT50 can be set to what ever 4 topologies and settings you select. It's WSIWYG so how you save it is how it is. I dialed in a killer setting for Phil X and Pete Thorn on the Modern Hi Gain and it was brutally loud with the drive on 6 and the master volume on just 3. They couldn't believe not the dozen people in there watching that it was 50w thru our 4x12. Hope you give it a try for yourself...

help me understand what you are saying about the L6 link ... i understand what the amp is (very cool idea - best of luck with it) .. but i am not quite grokking the idea of the PODHD plugged into the amp ... doesnt the pod model amps and cabs? ... then you put int into a highly flexible amp that has some modeling with its own cab ... seems redundant/confusing/odd ...

is there some 'unlocking' of features in the amp when it is hooked up to the POD?

please clarify
thanks

Im not asking you to rehash it Im saying tell me his name and Ill make sure he gets his money back. Truth of the matter, he probably already did. We have amps going out. I sort of agree with you and the next few months will tell the tale, he has one more chance to make it happen but in your case, you didnt place an order and you arent out any cash and neither is your friend. Your simply emulating everything thats wrong with forums. So stop it. thank you

T4D... So by connecting an XLR cable between a POD HD and the DT50, you now have access of using all 16 HD models instead of the 4 on the amp. But rather than the PODs 16 full models, we give you the 16 preamp only models, which is the way to run it that way. You still have the ability to set Class A, AB, Pentode, Triode for any of the 16 models. When you recall that patch the amp gets it's power section reconfigured/rebiased in the analog realm based on the digital info send along that L6 Link. You also have access to all the M Class effects that are in the M13. You can also chain 4 DT50's for say a Wet/Dry/Wet rig or 2 stereo setups at once.

Now someone could say I like the coloring of studio direct mode into an amp. But I think 99% would only take the preamp model feed it to the amp and use the Bogner designed power amp to run it. There's an option to feed the power amp of a DT50 combo or stack, plus other configs like front of a combo or stack with EQ filters to shape tone.

When you connect the POD HD it overrides the models in the amp. If for some reason you setup a patch that has no amp model into the DT50, it will default back to the topology last saved on the DT50 amp.

Does that help?

GearJoners, I play the BC Audio No.7.
It Rocked. We should of got to gether for a beer there too.

We might have even walked past each other.

Re: LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

Imagine this.....Reinhold Bogner, the eccentric with his heavy German accent, scolding Egnater for their copying of the Bogner look in the Tweaker series. "Hello there, Mr. Egnater Man! (looks up and down the amps) "I guess there's enough room in the world!"
.

Reinhold is a crack up. I remember from last year.

Hope you dig it when you do! So far we've had a lot of major bands/guitarists clamouring over getting one asap when the arrive. That's a good sign! I agree that needs to be called out even more in ads!

Re: LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

I'm kinda anxious to see the new higher powered channel switching Egnater Tweakers out there. For $700-$800, they're coming out with the Tweaker format, with an added channel in 6L6 and KT-88.

Those are 2 really good amps at a decent price point.

Re: LA Amp Show 2010. Pics!

Looks like you had a cool time :cool2:.

Did you try the Kauer axes by any chance? I've been curious about them ever since one forum bro got a Daylighter last year sometime, I think.

I didn't plug any in, but the necks felt nice, and they were quite GAS inducing.

The picture isn't perfect, but these two really caught my eye.

Yea, his gold tops look great. I like the carbon fibre truss rod cover with grille too.
