Lace Sensor Hot Gold Review

Is Lace still making Hot Golds? I think they have been out of Fenders for like 20 years.

They still make all the colors. You can het a hot silver too if you call in.

The only pickup they discontinued is the ps900/901 noiseless p90s. Yep, they did it pretty well, years before everyone else. It used the holy grail sidewinder system

You don't hear from them as much since Fender stopped using them in their USA models. Are any big guitar companies still using Laces?

They do a lot of business in the aftermarket, and the metal players love their Alumitone units in guitars and basses. I'm still a big fan, and am currently working on a 4 pickup guitar mod using 2 humbuckers and 2 single coils.

I've never tried any of their pickups, but being a Blackmore fan I'd love to give them a proper shake at some point. I don't think I've ever even seen them around here.

I know they were featured in Blackmore's first MIJ signature (the set neck one...a really cool guitar), but I don't think he ever used Laces...or either of his 2 signatures (the other with 2 Quarter Pounds) live.

I put the Red/RWRP Silver/Blue Lace Sensor set in a Bass VI and it's a much more versatile instrument now. It can go from djent to sludge to the Cure with ease now

He definitely used them at least during Stranger in us All and onwards, I think until fairly recently.

Here they are clearly visible as only white pickups were available at the time, and Ritchie apparently assaulted them with a black magic marker or something.

His MIJ was a set neck, and that's a bolt on. I suspect that is one of his 70s strats he has had for ages.

Not that I know of. I use the holy grails in my strat. It took dimarzio's area series to better them, IMO. I think fralin is using the sidewinder design, now that the patent is over.

I've liked the Laces I've tried (gold, red, & blue on various Strats in the late 90s). Dead quiet, and they got a really unique sound that worked really well in a band.

Also they don't have people on the forums parroting whether or not your supposed to like em or not nearly as bad as they used to.
