Laney Ironheart IRT 60 & 100.

Quick Question.

I am looking for an affordable HIGH Gain amp.
I can not find a Marshall DSL 100 to save my life.
Not in this country
I can however, get an IRT 60W 2X12 combo, and an IRT 100W head for almost the same money.

Does anyone have any experience with this Laney series ?
Can it do a decent modern high gain tone ?
Or is it more of a Hard Rock amp ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yeah. They're Metal amps. They've got a unique gain structure, and they take boosts well. They're definitely not 5150's. They're voiced different than most "standard" Metal amps, but they've got the Metal voicing alright.

The DSL is a ripper of an amp! But it is limited in that it really only does one thing... Very well.... But it's not versatile really at all.

The Laney could be much more versatile. Save money and spend that on the correct boost to accentuate whatever tones you desire.

My humble advice.

I have the 120 W head. It's definitely a metal amp & an awesome one. Great for any classic/80'smetal/modern metal

Great thick crunchy metal rhythm tones and liquid lead tones to die for. Very solidly built & dependable too :bigthumb:
