ehh its a bigsby. that was the 1st thing that crossed my mind. i mean what else are you gonna do?

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Alright here goes! This is the single coolest part I've ever held. I know it just looks like a Bigsby, but this is a 1959 Original Bigsby - all original - in near perfect shape. The only imperfection is that the black paint is coming off in some spots, but that is easily fixed. I will do it sometime soon.

Sorry these pictures aren't great. I'll try to get better ones. But this Bigsby is exactly what I wanted. It is in perfect shape, it functions as it should, and it's the first generation design. This Bigsby is only three years older than the guitar, and so they *could* have theoretically been paired up (Liberty guitars used their own 'Bigsby' type thing though, not the actual brand).

Anyways, I'm happier than I have been in a very long time. This thing looks so amazing. With the roller bridge, knobs, and white pup rings, this is going to look so unreal.

Wow, very cool Al! Where have I been - I didn't know anything about this project.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Thank you Steve!

I got this back in August, at the request of my girlfriend. I'm currently in the process of redoing every single thing (except maybe the pickups, I'm falling in love now that I can actually hear them). I've been posting every single part along the way, and I hope people don't get tired of it. I really do hope that.

I wouldn't have posted if I got a normal Bigsby, but this freakin thing is 48 years old, and it's in almost perfect shape. I'm in love!

Thanks again Steve!

Here's a different picture. It's fuzzy, but I like the colors. I wish it wasn't fuzzy. This digital camera is not great, and the lighting in here is terrible.

I'm taking off for a while guys, but thanks for everything so far! I really appreciate it.

Do I win something???

It looks good man. It's making my Semi-Hollow GAS ignite.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

:) Thank you very much! You guessed it right, I gotta hand it to you. Actually B Bent named it, but you got the tremolo part right.

dude thats fricking awesome. When that thing is done it deserves its own website.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

:) That makes my day Smilemon!

I have been thinking of doing a little "photo journal" when this is all done, showing its metamorphosis (if you will). I don't have enough early pictures, which is too bad. But I've been documenting every single change since then, so that's good at least.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Very cool bro. I've never been a Bigsby fan, but its definitely a cool find.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Thank you Matt! I can completely understand how they're an acquired taste. But nothing else would look right, plus they're my favorite tremolo.

But this one was just too cool! I actually had to strip my Gibson of its pickups (so it is barren now).

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

uggh. sorry :D

bigsbies are my tort :laugh2:

still a good looking axe though :D

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Yeah I know you hate Bigsby's. But even you can appreciate that it's old, rare, and in perfect shape (even if you hate it - which I understand). :D

And thanks for the little compliment there!

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

I wouldnt sweat the black paint. That stuff is coming off on most all of the old bigsbys. Cool score.

Re: Latest Green machine update - I got my SUPER SECRET part today! Ready???

Thanks Greg! I appreciate it! I'm not sure about the black paint. On the one hand, leaving it unpainted keeps it stock. On the other hand, it'll look betteer painted, and it's not hard to do. On the last hand, I will probably never part this Bigsby and this guitar. So do I strive to keep the Bigsby bone 1959 stock (actually it's a new spring, so I guess the whole assembly isn't stock), or do I go the aesthetic route?

I've got time. I've got knobs to worry about now. The ones I'm looking at are in the $15 each price range too, that's getting pricey. But the key thing is, I've got time.

Anyways, thanks Greg!
