Man that guitar is so awesome, you've done a great job finishing it, I just can't stand that color, it bugs the hell out of me. Everything else about it is so great. I just wish it were a little more understated. Don't paint the bigsby, it looks great as is.

Wow somebody doesn't like the color!? I'm shocked! Yeah it is a 'strong' color, definitely not understated.

And yeah, the frets are small frets. It can be a pain in the ass, since the bridge and nut are miserable (so some frets don't work right, and the low E buzzes). But none of the frets are 'dead,' I've checked that a number of times. Once I get a new truss rod nut, a new nut, and a new bridge it'll play perfectly.

Al, I'm digging the Green Machine! There's a lot vibe in that box, and you are putting a lot of love in it! Can't wait to see the final version.

That and the LP are a very sexy combo. How is lester sounding by the way? The SuperD getting in your ear?

Ace, I actually really liked the Super D/PAF combo. They both got sold when I found this Bigsby. I was not going to pass that up - plus I don't have anything more than a practice amp.

But thanks for the kind words! Someday (my Green guitar and two of my other ones - the Tele and Strat - have never met) I'd like to get a family picture. I put too much love into my guitars! Too much time and love into them!

Cool story, that guitar has a lot of history. You should try to find parts only with a tale of their own, making it a kind of story book. That would make it even awesome-r

A few things need to be new, like the nut and bridge. I'm actually fairly certain that everything else i going to be new. The knobs are the only other "character" piece. I'm just going to make those really cool!

But I think it'd be super hard to find other parts that have cool stories!

It would be hard but cool.

The nut could be bone from something you like, for instance if you're a hunter some sort of animal that had good bone for it.

The knobs could be made of a wood that only grows in your neck of the woods...

The lacking items might not have history in themvelves but they can tell a story about you thus having their own story right from the start.

I recall you want some special knobs thta cost 15$ a pop, what are they? Got pics?

Anyway, just thinking out loud.

And BTW, hollowbodies are the only guitars where green looks good, especially semi-trasparant green. Congrats.

Here are some of the higher end possibilites. I'm not sure if I get these what tops I would get. I'm fairly sure I'd rather have "UFO" style over "Dome" style, I like bell type knobs more on hollowbodies.

Then again, I may go with something completely different! Who knows! I've been finding a lot, and I've been doing a lot of research. I alwys end up coming back to these two links though, so I'm leaning towards these.

Go with the green abalone domes the'll look better with the colour and type of guitar IMO and worth the extra cost.

That guitar is starting to get ridiculously cool looking. I always liked the shape of the body, but with the aged Bigsby and the sweet rosewood/saddle piece, that guitar is turning into something special.

Luis, on one hand abalone could look AWESOME. One the other hand, it could completely clash with what I'm trying to do. So who knows. I'm going to have a green, white, crome motif, and so I've also been thinking of chrome UFO knobs with either the pearl or white tops (my only reservation is that the pure white tops may look a little cheap).

Chris, that post means a lot to me! That was a really nice thing to say! But the prttiest part is coming soon! Now, the Bigsby is the coolest part, but the new truss rod cover is going to make this look beautiful. The eBay photos show a white TRC, but itt shipped with a black one. So I finally refinished the TRC in white, and the last coat of paint is drying. Then I gotta sand it. But anyways, I set it on, and it makes the guitar 'pop' so well!

Anyways, thanks guys! New pics with the new TRC tomorrow!

So I got an estimate, and for First Act to custom build a guitar similar to my Green machine would cost $3115!!! I can't believe it.

Yeah, their floor models are cheap but when you get down to custom shop I think you pay about the same as a PRS, and it doesn't even have the same quality or resale value.

But buying one and messing with it...
