Lava Cable Releases New Lava ELC Cable!

The new improved Lava ELC cable is now more flexible, rugged and it provides increased sonic performance by using a lower strand count conductor. At 15 pF per foot, it has the lowest capacitance of any guitar cable on the market. Every aspect of this cable was re-designed with the guitar and bass player in mind to provide for low microphonics, reliability, and superior frequency response. Neutrik straight and G&H right angle plugs are used and each cable is assembled using German made WBT Silver Solder.

The new Lava ELC retails at $69.95 for a 20 foot cable. As with all Lava Cable products, numerous custom length and connector options are available. The specifications of the cable are: Conductor: 20 awg stranded 99.999% pure OFC copper, Insulation: Foamed PE, Electro-static: Conductive PVC, Shield: 98% coverage 99.999% pure OFC copper, Final jacket: Black PVC .305 diameter, Capacitance: 15 pf/FT. This cable can be purchased and custom ordered from Lava Cable’s website: www.lavacable.com, and from dealers.

So the next question is, how does your redesigned ELC stack up against the competition?

Really well! I just A/B'd aganist the Tara Labs Spectrum, the Cardas Golden Chord, the EA Lyric HG and Melody and the old ELC. Its was clearly better than then old version and I preferred it to Cardas Golden Chord and EA Melody and it sonically very close to the others.

Re: Lava Cable Releases New Lava ELC Cable!

How does it compare to Canare, Mogami, or some better Pro Co cables like the Excalliber; Sir Tweed, or Black Knight

It uses better copper, has a larger outer diameter and much lower capacitance than all those, so it is going to allow you to hear more....

Mark is a great guy to deal with fellas! I buy all my cables from him!

You HAD to say that, didn't you... wow. :fing2: I've been sitting in the background on those Gear Page threads keeping updates on cables (there's no doubt in my mind it gets a lot better than the George L and Canare I've been using), you can expect an order from me in a few months.

Maybe its just me, but I never thought George L's were that great. They are certainly better than the average cable, but nothing all that special IMHO.
I like my Klotz "LaGrange" cables I got from Mark.

Yeah, I've got some ridiculously good gear now so the only weak link is the cables at this point. I was seriously contemplating the EA Melody patch cables before, so this new ELC looks pretty sweet.

The one cable I won't replace is the Mulder Audio speaker cable. I compared it to some average speaker cables and the difference was night and day. That cable is incredible and I'm still undecided as to whether I should get more from that guy.

The Melody's are exactly what I'm using for my effects. They aren't cheap, but they are the best I've yet to use.
