How do i change the pickups LCR network?

What changes the LCR ?

How do i get more midrange boost or midrange peak from the LCR?

Re: LCR network

man, if you want more midrange......get pickups with more winds (hotter), or get an Alnico 2 magnet pickup. simple as that

Re: LCR network

Why does more winding produce more midrange?

Why does using Alnico II magnet produce more midrange?

well, i have no idea, and i think you may be getting to the point where your just going to have to accept the "thats just the way it is" rule. More winds creates more of everything sonically (quite often an increase in mids is what most people typically hear) and alnico 2 magnets have more mids than Alnico 5 magnets. THAT JUST THE WAY IT IS ACCORDING TO NATURE :smack: :D :smokin:

Re: LCR network

What about getting midrange Peaks? how do i get it to Peak ?

The Alnico I-II-III-IV-V must have different mixtures and inductance

Which pickups out there have midrange peaks or midrange boosts who makes them please?

well, theres lots of info about A3 and A4 magnets here on the forum. use the search function and you can find stuff about them.

generally, A2 magnet pickups have less bass, more mids, smooth highs. this can also mean more compression

A5 magnet pickups have punchier bass, and more of it, less or even mids, and more glassy highs and treble....as compared to A2 magnet pickups.

I guess the A3 and A4 magnets might combine some of the qualities of both a2 and a5, but i think the results have been mixed from what i remember reading. Ive done no experimenting myself.

as far as pickups with lots of midrange, for humbuckers, the Custom Custom has alot of midrange, due to it being medium or high output winding, and A2 magnet. many people also say the JB humbucker has an upper midrange peak to it, some people love it for that, some people hate it for that.

for single coils, i think more midrange is just about being wound hotter. vintage output single coils like the SSL1 (A5) and APS1 (A2) do differ in sound, but since they're low output, they still both have alot of clarity and not a whole lot of midrange. Once you start to add more winds to them, more midrange would come to both

i think numbers work ok when comparing pickups, but to me, with all the variances in equiptment from player to player, its all just what works for you. while a pickup for one player may sound as having no midrange, could be plenty of midrange for somebody else, just because the other guy has different equiptment. Im not sure if you just want to learn all the technicalities about what effects a pickups sound, or if you are looking for a different tone, but if its the latter, i think you are focusing way too much on numbers and what your reading, and you should just look at it more simply, instead of questioning people who have experience with it

Re: LCR network

Thanks for the information

I'm looking in the ballpark of a fender jaguar pickup?

Or a Rickenback pickup the toaster, or a Gretch filtertron because these 3 pickups have midrange peaks and twang which i like

Is there single coil pickups that have alot of midrange outputs?
I can't find that many

Which single coils use A2 and high output and alot of windings?

Re: LCR network

have you read through the FAQ and Seymour's Q & A on the main site?

there is a ton of info there regarding pickups, tone, and everything else you might want to know

Re: LCR network

The one guy who knows more about this kind of stuff than anyone on the planet right now is the one to ask. I don't know if it's kosher to bring his name up on this forum, b/c I'm a newbie and I have to say I haven't really read through the FAQ. But he's a German-born guitarist and a very nice fellow. His knowledge of these things is legendary.

WALTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are a professional question asker I'm sure you have your teachers thinking your a genuis at school..

but in the real world your not fooling a soul..

Its not cool to come here and test our guys knowledge simply because you can..

BEFORE ANYONE ASWERES THIS KID ONE MORE TIME HOW ABOUT THIS KID TELL US WHAT HE's learned here... so far FIRST??

Come on KID how about you explain just what you have learned so far--

You have drilled all of us with a zillion questions.. and I was told you do this at other Forums two.. and its always in a 2 hour period..

TELL us what You know about pickups Now-- before you ask one more question!

I want an essay! and I want it know or I want you to stop this ya little evil genius--

NOT EMPRESSED.. and I am going to see to it your evected from here if you continue to work my friends fingers for nothig..

Re: LCR network

Yep and u still don't know what LCR is i bet u just sit there and think u know
what pickups are because a monkey and machine does the same thing u do is wind a wire around a magnet and u call yourself something because u worked in a assembly line making pickups so really your not a leader at all or not a inventor your just someone that just copys from others.

Re: LCR network

Get in a pool with your guitar. That ought to work. Don't forget to turn on the amp and have the guitar connected to it.

Did you say anything? I didn't hear you LOL.

But I tell ya what I never have forget "one thing" after I ask a question about pickups.
I remeber it all like a freakin' hard drive.

So Boy,
whats different about my monkey face and yours is mine came complete with ears -eyes-nose-mouth

your monkey face has - a mouth- then more mouths- but no ears- and a tiny micro nose that cannot smell how much *s*h*i*t it's stepped in,

How do u change the impedance or reactance of a pickup?

SAME QUESTION YOU HAVE ASKED HERE 50 TIMES IN A WEEK--

I'm telling your dad! LOL!

Punk ass kid!

Oh come on Rev. Don't be like that.

I'm sure his dad has more important things to do with life than bother with this lowlife. Or who knows, maybe some belt to ass will come into being.
