I'm posting two Mercyful Fate songs...and I'm just wondering if anyone knows what effects this guitarist (Michael Denner) used.
On "Into the Coven" he plays the intro solo and the guitar licks following, as well as the solos at 2:00, 3:00, 3:40 and finally the licks after that last one. His tone is to die for in this song IMO...I love how he kicks the chorus on for certain solos and licks and it just takes it to a whole other level. Clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au6AIHBsJfY
On "Desecration of Souls" he plays all the solos except for the one at 2:30. This song is from their second cd...so his tone is a little different but still has that strong midrange character. In this song his tone has an almost "crying" quality. Clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBxys8_t0XI
