ok so i got a les paul studio and finally decided that it was about that time to change the strings, so i took them off and then the bridge kinda fell apart. So its pretty obvious how to fit the pice that the strings actually go through back on but the pice that the strings sit one (where u adjust the intonation) is a little bit trickier..i dunno if its on backwards or not. I have the screw intonation heads facing the back of the guitar (bridge) and it kinda slops down that way...is this right or backwards...i wish i could post some pics but i dont have digital camera or a scanner...lemme know if i can give more details..

Look at the slots on the saddle. The thick ones are wound, and the narrow ones are plain. Try not to touch the bolts, otherwise you can mess up the intonation, provided it's perfect now.

When I change strings on a LP, I leave 1 old string on, while changing the other 5, then I go back and change that 1. That way, you don't have a metal bridge sliding across the finish, leaving a nice scratch.

On my Studio and my '57 RI the screws face toward the neck.

Re: les paul bridge...help plz....

Be glad you don't have one of the old bridges that the saddles fall out if there's not a string holding it in!

I would think the easyist way to tell is the way the saddles are postitioned.... Place the bridge back on so the low e string saddle is the farthest back and the high e string is the farthest forward.... At the very least if you restring and mess up and find the intonation way off loosen the strings off and turn it around.....
