Les Paul configuration using oak grigsby 5 way super switch

Can someone help me I am a newby and I would like to use a lespaul configuration with 2 volume 2 tone independently with 2 Humbuckers. if possible either a diagram or instructions on how to wire this up would be greatly appreciated.

There are many superswitch types. Each of them has varying abilities to combine coils.

Perhaps a good starting point is to find out what tonal combinations you would like to have.

Welcome to the forum!

Let us know what combinations you want, and then the wiring experts here can help you out with the actual wiring of the switch. But you have to figure out what you want those other switch positions to do.

Thanks: In switch position 1=Bridge HB, position 2=outer coils in series, position 3 both Bridge and Neck HB position 4 =inner coils in parallel, and position 5 = neck HB . With the neck HB controlled by volume and tone separate from the bridge volume and tone. In other words both have their separate V and T controls.

If that is not possible then make recommendations

Something like that should be possible. Sit tight, and someone who is much better at wiring than I am will be able to sort it out. I use inner coils on position 2 and outer coils in position 4, but they are both in parallel. I also do it with a master volume & master tone.

I already have the 5 way switch and the guitar has been routed for the lever switch, therefore on this build I can not use the toggle switch. In my post #4 I provide my intentions with the oak grigsby switch. I do appreciate the responses so far so thank you for taking the time.

Unless my thinking is all out, I don't believe you can control B & N each with their own vol control with a switching like you have. As you have switching operations controlling the various coils selected, one vol pot couldn't (as I'm aware) control either pickup in series or just one of the two coils. You would be looking at MV and MT I think.

Thanks: My issue is I already have routed and drilled the body for the configuration I mentioned above. If the 2V 2T can be done but would not give me the tone I mentioned above can someone provide me with an alternate relative to position 2 and 4??

Mincer: So far I haven't had any luck getting a wiring configuration from the folks. I already have the guitar routed for the configuration mentioned above. I would like to try any wiring configuration that anyone might have if possible keeping with the present 2V, 2T independent of each other regardless of coil cut if that is the problem.

If you went for something like tripleshots for your selection, then to the 2V, 2T like a LP, you could simply mount a regular tele 3-way or 4 way switch.....the latter giving you series and parallel for the two pickups together.

The stewmac site sells the 4 way tele switch that I got.......they also have the wiring diagram linked on the page
