Re: Les Paul GAS, Studio or Edwards Les Paul

It all depends on what you're looking for. Do you want a bound body?neck? flametop,burst?..painted..?..check the Epiphone elite/elitist stuff (Gibson made in Japan)...The Edwards are great, but they dont use solid flametops like the epi elites. check out the old orville's from japan (they became the Epi elites and are made in the same plant). they're great also. They all use long neck tennons, they're all mahogany and they all play great. If you're just thinking of resale..just buy a '59 and put it away in the closet. If you can't get by the name on the headstock, you know what you have to do.

Did you ever see a G&L strat or tele?..versus a fender?...which would you rather own?..see my point

THats actually one of the studios I am really gassing over. Since there is no going back for you Matt, you want to hook Odie up? :laugh2: :laugh2:

that's what my studio is...limited edition color with ebony board and all brushed silver hardware and pickup covers...this thing is great (after some new pots and removal of some harware hehe).

Re: Les Paul GAS, Studio or Edwards Les Paul

i would shop for a classic, but thats just me. I woudl rpefer the real deal with binding and all. Ya the clasics only come in a 60's slim taper profile, while the standards offers both 60's and 50's necks. I;d say if not a classic save up for a standard. I prefer slimmer necks so the classic sort of appeals to me more.
