So, they take the bodies the interns were practicing bursts on and give the errant paint job a cute name and sell them? Smart business, though I’m not buying.

How about this?

I’m waiting for a decent semi or full hollow...

Crazy that $1,800 is a "stupid deal" these days. I paid $1,600 for my Standard in 2004. That was a good deal; standard retail was $1,980. And that's back when they still specified traditional Honduran mahogany on the guitars, not just generic "mahogany." Still not a greatly built guitar, and IME, they have gone downhill in quality and specs since then...though I must say that the 2019 models I have played have showed quite the turnaround, and I love what they did with the lineup and specs this year.

We remember the prices we used to pay but tend to forget inflation. $1,600 of 2004 is about $2,100 in today’s dollars. So if $2,100 was a good deal, $1,800 is a stupidly good deal :)

Completely agree re. the 2019 line.
