I'm not seeing a GoldTop finish there. Does the regular Studio line have it? I've seen the Silverburst, so you'd think they'd have GT.
Most folks do. Some folks want the finish more than the pickups.
Well, then I'm cuckoo for coco-puffs because I will buy one of the million that are sure to be made and route it out for humbuckers. You guys will just have to live with the other 999,999.

P-90 guitars are a very, very small part of worldwide production, and in the past 60 years, I would bet that all models of P-90 guitars ever made would fall far short of 1,000,000. That's why you don't route them out for HB's, which are made by the millions.
Treasure the few P-90 guitars there are. In the used guitar market, I see P-90 models consistently hold their value better than the same model with HB's. There is a fanatical following for P-90 guitars, whereas HB's are just one in a sea of HB guitars.
And my good doctor, if you spent some time with P-90's, and amaybe swapped some magnets, I imagine that you might be impressed with what can be done with them. They are making a resurgence in popularity for a reason.

Oh I'd definitely give the P90s a chance (I can hear refrains of "all we are saying, is give P90s a chance" :lol: ) but for me a GoldTop LP is Gary Ritchrath, and that means humbuckers.
And it also opens up more alternatives for pickup swaps.
Might try magnet swapping someday, but for now I'll do it the hard way :lol:

The 2 black ones I have played have been light. Lighter than my Faded Standard which is a touch over 8 lbs. They were both very resonant, responsive guitars, I really liked them. This is apparently the first line to go back into production in July when Gibson goes back on line.

I agree that white one looks cool as hell. Love gold tops though. I'd definitely consider the white one though. That's the only one that really jumped out at me.

I read on MLP forums that only 3600 will be made (of all colors, of which I think there are 5). When I first saws this, my jaw dropped! It's just what I'm looking for! To bad I don't have the money right now.
(and this is coming from the owner of a Historic '57 Goldtop and an Orville Goldtop!)
