Let me introduce you to my guitars and help me pick my next.

Re: Let me introduce you to my guitars and help me pick my next.

I said 'well known' guitarists. I think it is safe to say that in general, the guitars they use can be grouped into LP style and Strat style. In fact, LP and Strat are the styles that are mostly copied. I can't think of any brand that churns out Jaguar or Mustang copies. Can you?

Sonic Youth? Dinosaur Jr.? Nirvana? Queens of the Stone Age?

I'd pick up a Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic. Student scale, slim, light, inexpensive, gorgeous and uncommon looking, and a tone all their own. The 24" scale gives them an unmistakable tone and feel unlike most other guitars. Really darn good bang for the buck, especially used (in fact, I'm not sure if they're even available new any more). Takes any flat-poled Strat pickup if it ever comes down to modding the thing (or you can use staggered pickups if you give up the stock pickup covers).

I said 'guitarists' not 'guitar destroyer'...lol. Sticking drumsticks between the strings and the fretboard is yet an overlooked technique GIT should adopt in the future.

Of those bands, only Nirvana was well known for smashing instruments.
