Let's do this for speakers this time

Given one model you have to use forever without being able to add different speaker types or change model, what would you use? Let's leave cabinets out of the discussion.

I've discovered after a little bit of experimentation that I'm a Greenback guy. Every once in a while I get an itch to see what Vintage 30s sound like with my gear again, but I find myself coming back to Greenbacks.

Good deal. . I would have been posting this today if you hadn't.

what's the sound difference between the two?

If I was forced to use one model it would be the Eminence Wheel House 150. They are very neutral and do not color your tone as much as other speakers. You get more of the amp's tone. They are great for every style of music and have and almost hi-fi quality to them.

I have a 4x12 set of Blackbacks that were built during the transition period. They have the pulsonic cones, they sound glorious. I need to find a home for them.

I'll happily store them for you until you figure out what you'd like to do with them.

Very cool shoot out but those are not my speakers. Those are 55hz with Mueller cones. Mine are 75hz with pulsonic cones a very different animal.

You could always sell me two of them and solve half of your problem. . .

I want to put 2×12 & 2x10 into the cabinet I have and make it a jazz cabinet.

The funny thing about the Blackbacks in that Johan vid is you can hear the earlier Bon Scott AC/DC tone right there. Dirty Deeds

I’m a little surprised you don’t have them in your main cabinet tbh.

16 Ohm Greenbacks for their all around balanced EQ with a hint of glassiness and gritty character.

Mesa-voiced 8 Ohm Vintage 30's for their familiarity and ease of recording.
