It hurts to say it but J. Hendrix Purple Haze has one of the most horrible solos ever.:28::28::28::28:
I feel you on that call Christian. As far as his tone, it almost seems to be a parody of itself anymore. He sounds like whatever his 'preset' would be on a digitech RP box.
And he can be pretty cool when he just rips, but when he is trying to be 'Slash the melodic blues rock guy', it just all sounds the same. Kind of like a target note blues lesson book solo.
Hey, you're talking about one of my heroes; he didn't run out of gas until later.
The bass fill that Guy Pratt plays on the live Delicate Sound of Thunder version of "Another Brick in the Wall pt.2". Why oh why did they chose him? Roger's playing, while never overly technical, was perfect for Floyd. Then this idiot comes in and slaps all over classic Floyd tunes. Yeah, awesome!
EDIT - Some idiot LIKES it on Youtube! Link Skip to 3:334, unfortunately you miss Dave's solo if you do that.
there is this kid pat who comes to my blues jam. its bad. metal zone and a boss compressor with the sustain turned all the way up. cant play in key, cant play in time and plays alot of notes very loudly. i would gladly welcome a cc deville disaster compared to this kid (who thinks he is pretty good to boot)
I hate to say this, but the the solos Mick Ronson played in "White Light,White Heat" in Bowies Ziggy Stardust Live movie are horrendous. Completely out of key and sloppy as hell - TWICE!!!!
Sorry Mick!
Page started running out of gas around...say 1969! The solo on Heartbreaker, while was great in terms of note choice was so poorly played it alone earns Page a nod in the worst solo catagory...sad part is it only went further down hill from there!

Wow! Im surprised anybody agreed with that to be honest!
I'm sure Slash has skills but I think I've yet to realy hear them to be honest...
Slash...My biggest problem with the guy is that he didn't really develop in any direction since the 1st GNR album...
What's up with that? Did he peak early?
