well, i've learned enough here that i'll no longer buy from this forum....too much "Buyer Beware"....in other words, too little honest and fair dealing...
So if it's your responsibility to put it in the buyer's hands, do you eat the guitar and provide a refund if it doesn't get there? IMO, that's the best reason why a seller would want the item insured, regardless of the buyer's interest in such protection. My part of the bargain is shipping; bringing it somewhere and putting it into their hands.
+1He owes no one an apology. He didn't mention any names he just stated how he felt.
Bad analogy IMO. First, unlike your example it wasn't a blanket statement like "everyone who sells here is a jerk". Second, I'm not sure if you could figure out that the OP was writing in reference to krank even if you were willing to flip through trading post threads trying to figure it out. Krank decided to out himself. If he hadn't done that, how many of us would know that he was one of the parties described in the OP?Regardless, he insulted him. If I go around saying "Forum members from Europe are jerks", if it was proved untrue, I'd still owe the dudes from EU an apology, whether I named anybody or not.

Don't put words in my mouth. As far as not owing any apologies, I guess that means that so long as I don't name people specifically, I can say whatever crap I want about people.
Don't put words in my mouth.
While you're at it, would you mind cutting down on the hyperbole a bit? If I talk about a situation where someone failed to do what I consider right while avoiding calling him out, that's quite different from "talking crap about people".
I wonder... how many people are going to deal with caprae after this? :laugh2:
No, it doesn't. However, the guy who outed himself confirmed the "accusation". Whether what he did was right or wrong is another question altogether but from what I read, in this case the acts described appear to be the acts committed.Let me rephrase that to, "Does simply not naming names give someone the right to make (potentially) unfounded accusations?"
I would not hesitate to deal with any of the regular members here. I've probably bought and sold through ten or more deals here and not had one problem.
This instance is an exception to the norm I do beleive.
BadJaxx, it is interesting that you take such a strong position in opposition to dealing with the forum brethren. Especially considering you have 22 posts.
This one is directed at me. I bit my tongue, saying to myself that I wasn't going to post anything, but have decided to post up. I like eveyone has said mentioned before hand, you should have asked. The pick up is insured (like I said, you should have asked), and you seemed like a honest enough person that if it didn't get there, I'd reimburse the $50 (mint, in new condition Jazz- neck pick up. $69.99 at your nearest music store), and I'd fight it out with USPS. I waited 5 days for the E-check to clear, felt bad that you had to wait too, and after working a 12 hr. night shift, and taking my kid to school, I waited 30 mins. for the Post Office to open up to send it priority mail. Did I mention I had the flu and had to run across the street to McDonalds to use the bathroom a few times?Another pickup and parts are circulating who knows where. Again no way of tracing was put in affect.
