leveled the frets a long time ago, but didn't crown them at the time

now that i have the time to crown them, i don't remember which ones were leveled. they were kind of all over the fretboard. and only under certain strings.

since crowning only takes material off the sides, and not the top, i wont really screw up any frets by crowning ones that dont need it. right?

some careful inspection should reveal those with flat tops

Sharpie marker. Run it over the top of every fret. If the fret is already crowned, the first couple of passes with the crowning file will wipe off the marker ink. On the leveled ones, you will continue to see a line until you get it crowned.
