Lew....Your Brother and Mission Amps - Questions

Hey Lew,

Does your brother work on Marshall amps? Specifically the JCM 800 2 channel models. I think mine at a minimum needs new filter caps because it is noisy as hell on any setting, and there are some simple (for those with wiring knowledge) mods that can drasticly improve the clean channel and help with the overdrive.

I can send it to some of the big names for mods, but that's a $400 propoistion + shipping. Does Bruce do any of this type of work?

Hey Jeff; You may want to email Bruce direct. I've emailed him questions before, and he's always gotten right back to me. Very friendly and helpful dude. ;)

Hi Jeff, Bruce does great work on JCM 800 style Marshalls. We worked together alot on both of my 50 watt master volume combo amps, mostly trying to get my '86 combo (with side by side inputs) to sound as good as my '82 (with vertical inputs) as well as my two channel JCM 800 100 watt head. He's aware of all of the popular tweaks for those amps and also has a few of his own. He knows those amps inside and out and can even adjust the plate voltage to the preamp tubes to get more tone out of your amp...that's one thing we had to do to my '86 to get it sound more like my '82. I kept all of our notes from those sessions, tho Bruce has his own notes too. Give him a call or send him an email. http://www.missionamps.com Thanks! Lew
