lightning mojo les paul

Re: lightning mojo les paul

I'm putting my Les Paul in the yard with a lighting rod on it and then putting it on ebay, lol. Wow, that's a shame. Kind of a rare bird destroyed by a freak accident.

Strange that it doen't look like much happened to the tuners. They weren't in the path of the current I guess.

Of course my first thought was it's a scam and the guy ruined his guitar playing Ace Frehley in a KISS tribute band.

Re: lightning mojo les paul

Maybe folks think it will make them play guitar like Roy Hobbs hit with his lightning bat in "The Natural"

Re: lightning mojo les paul

if i could snag that axe for under $250 i'd give a go at restoring her for myself... all it is worth is the wooden parts left in the neck and body.... it is no longer a Les Paul... it is the remains of a Les Paul!

makes me wonder of the truss rod needs to be completely replaced... also makes me wonder if the heat weakened the neck/body glue joint

sand her face down for a part refinnish, add a new fingerboard or a patch job on the one there... and touch up the finnish on the neck... and some electronics... just don't try playing her in the rain... it may strike twice...

Now if it had been made out of wood from a mahogany, maple or rosewood tree that had been struck by lightning it'd be an even better story.

SHOCK ME!

I would never sell that guitar. It's got frets up to C - I can use it. By all accounts the story seems legit.
