Sounds pretty good actually. I'm usually more into Clapton and SRV stuff but I actually gave this a full listen

Is there a skip or something at 1:36 or 1:37 of some sorts?

No skip, just a cut on the backer before some sort of speakover of sorts?!?
Dunno it is an old backer, have always had that cut in the end.

It is normally not what I play either, but sometimes it is just fun to go in that direction.
