Lil 59 Pickup - Bobbin cover problem

I'm not sure what people call them these days, covers, toppers, whatever. My problem is that the OEM cover for my Lil 59 decides to pop off sometimes,

I've gone to pick up my Tele to play and I notice the pickup looks different and see the cover on the floor under the guitar stand, or worse, I'm performing and I get this string buzz, and the cover is coming off and against the strings.

I'm thinking this would be a difficult part to find if I lost this.

My question is, what is the safe method to secure this to the pickup without causing damage to the actual pickup and bobbins? And is this a recurring problem others are or have experienced?

Thanks all.....

I'd say nothing with solvents, they could damage the wire insulating lack.
Maybe a little drop of hot glue? ( I don't know the name in English, the one in stick you use for hobby applied with a gun)

yikes! never seen that before. as mentioned, gotta be careful not to mess up the coils. not sure hot glue is a good choice though since it can be runny

I broke of an ear of lil bucker while trying it to fit through the pickguard.
used epoxy to glue it back on. Work out fine but this is not reversible and will be hard to fix future wire breaks in case the high e gets stuck in the PU.

in you case I suggest you try it with heated wax?

Looks like someone had a very heavy hand and tightened the poles so tight they pulled through the top.
I would just use 3 small drops of epoxy...one in the center between the number 1 & 2 poles, between the #3 & 4 poles, and between the #5 & 6 poles. Not so much that it spreads into the pole screw holes. Just be sure to clean the surfaces well to get off any wax. It also won't hurt to scratch the surfaces with some sandpaper.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I own a lot of SD pickups and have never had this issue before. Maybe it was made on a Friday when someone was in a hurry to get home..... :)

I didn't want to attempt using something that may mess up the windings or the bobbins.

I may try the hot glue suggestions. If that doesn't hold, it's pretty easy to remove and I'll try the stronger epoxy method. This is the only pickup I have that is a humbucker in a single coil size, and as luck would have it, I got a problem with this one pickup.

It's just annoying that you're playing and there is this buzzing, and you look down and that cover is up against the strings. The other thing is, I don't want it coming off at a gig, and lose it.

My guess was that the top of the bobbin was always part of the whole pickup, after winding, mounted to the metal mounting bracket.

Thanks for the tips. I'll go with the less aggressive method and work up.
