Lindy Fralin Pickups

I'm considering investing in a set of Blues Specials or Vintage Hots. I'm kinda leaning toward the Blues Specials since they would be a tiny bit beefier and I play driving rock. Anyone here have any first hand experience with Lindy's pickups?

Re: Lindy Fralin Pickups

Lots. For a start, I have Blues Specials in my rosewood Strat. Yes, very beefy, especially if you get the bottom plate for the bridge pickup. The neck pickup is pure SRV.

I have a Fralin Steel Pole 43 in my maple Strat. More power for sure, not quite a P90 in terms of output but close. Still very Stratty.

I have Fralin P90s in my Les Paul Special, PAFs in my Les Paul Classic, and High Output Humbuckers in my Les Paul Custom. The only non-Fralin guitars I have are my two Charvels and a Squier Bullet Special, which all sport Duncans.

Lindy makes good stuff.

I wonder how the Duncan APS-1's compare. I do like the sweet sound of an Alnico 2 magnet also.

Lindy uses A4's in his P-90's and PAF's (I have a pair of each), but he'll put in A2's on request. You can easily put in A2's yourself.

Re: Lindy Fralin Pickups

The APS-1 pickups already come with Alnico II magnets. I would be buying the Stratocaster pickups.

my favorite set of lindys strat pups is a vintage hot neck, blues special middle and over wound blues special bridge
