Line 6 Amps.. Which One Is The Best?

Hails guys.. i´m planning to buy a 5150 head, but not sure i can afford IT, $$$$ It costs R$4.800 Brazilian money, that is 1 us dolars = 3 brazilian money.
So..i guess another alternative should be a Line 6 amp, since meshuggah and illdisposed has awesome Distortion and uses line 6 amps.
altough i hate modeling amps... i guess IT will be a good Acquisition.
do you know some models of line 6 amps to recomend to ME?
recomend it and give me a review
2x12 or 4x12 half stack with th eHEAD, pbviously.

if you really want Line 6 stack and head i guess you w'ont get to it with the money you have at the moment. I use the vetta II head with a full stack consisting of Line 6 412 S&B and this stack just gives brillinat sound and the most versetaille tone i've ever heard it's just not the cheapest of equipment. propably the HD 147 may be good for the price range and combined with a good haf stack it should give a great sound machine with distortion without limits. I'm just unsure about the pricing overseas(i'm from germany so i can't really know)

Hd is short for head and 147 is the model number,nothing spectacular

Hails man, ALSO... which one has the best distortion possibilities and have MORE distortion?
HD 147, SPIDER II, I OR FLEXTONE III?

The Vetta (II) is their best, but I'm not sure whether you'll be able to afford it. I can hardly afford it and it's priced the same as the ENGL I just ordered. The HD147 is also reasonably expensive, but it's really good (for the sound you're looking for) and it looks killer as well! I'd put my money on that, I personally like it better anyway. Modelling amps are really underrated although I think Line6 has really done their homework

Just get the 5150, you'll be happier in the end. They go for 550 US on ebay, or 1650 brazilian.

if you'll be happier with it depends on how much you like the line 6 modeling amps.they are killer if used right but sometimes a bit confusing because of the sheer range of options(took me long time to get used to a the features of my vetta II). And also they are probably more expensive than solid states and even tubes(at least true for the top of the line models)

HD 147, i listened to some soundclips and the thing set up properly can kill.

and i'm starting to like line6 cabs a bit, they sound so .. airy.

Vetta II is BEST, HD 147 is good too, pretty much for all high gain stuff, Flextone III is the best all rounder. I still want to get one.

vetta can surely even more alround than flextone but it's just a lot more expensive. And for the sound clips: thatsthe main problem about line 6. The clips suck in general and it takes lots of time to get the rea cool setups if you are not used to it.But once you got it right you're in heaven.

I'm pretty sure Line 6 Treadplate is based on a Dual Rec. They changed the Dual's model a bit for the PODxt (from what it was on 2.0), and after many demands from users they brought it back as Treadplate. Or that's how I understood the story anyways, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

WFD, if you really want to go Line 6 I would only consider the Flextones, HD147, Duoverb, or Vetta amps. I wouldn't mess with the Spiders for what you're wanting.

Theres already a treadplate model on GP which is blatantley modeled on the Recto.

This is a different but similar model... I prefer it

Bro, look at it this way, you'll pay 1650 real, with shipping perhaps 1850 real, customs are 60% so in the end you'll be paying about 2960 real, which isn't even 75% of what you pay in Brazil. I'd look for it on eBay if I were you, cuz it's a moneysaving option :saeek:
