Line 6 UX2 Help

Ok, I just got a line 6 Toneport UX2 recording interface for christmas, more as a means of recording my guitar than anything else (although I may get a microphone for it somewhere down the road) My question is, how do I get it to play through my computer's speakers? I've installed Gearbox and the version of abelton live that came with it, but I can't seem to figure out how to put the audio through my speakers. It says for gearbox that I need to get studio headphones or monitors, but I figured abelton live would allow me to listen to the audio while I recorded it. Do I need to get studio headphones/monitors? Also, I used to have a 1/8" to 1/4" converter for regular headphones, does anyone know where I can get another if this is indeed what I need?

Thanks again,
- Nick

Re: Line 6 UX2 Help

Hey Nick. You probably need to make sure the inputs and outputs are "configured" right in the Live software. You will see the settings under Live>preferences>audio>input/output. Select the correct ins and outs and you should be good.

Mucho thanks, hopefully I can get some sound out of it tommorow, for now, I'm hitting the hay. I'll let you know how it goes, and with any luck I might be able to post a few clips later (If my playing is good enough, I'm a bit out of practice)

Re: Line 6 UX2 Help

Well, there is no problem with my hardware as of now, I'm just trying to get this set up, and I'm new to recording software, so I was just trying to get things rolling. There was no sound coming out of the computer, but the reason for that was because the audio output for gearbox is actually coming out of the UX2, which only has a 1/4" headphone output. By running it through Abelton live, I figure I can at least get playback through my computer speakers.
