Line6 Gearbox Octave song idea.

Kind of embarrassing posting anything on here with a bunch of guitar gods but what the heck.

Quick song idea I came up with tonight while messing with the Octave pedal, kind of a Rage vibe I thought. Slapped some solos on the end to break up the monotony of the riffs.

that was really good! you should have spread out the solos to keep the song alive, i think. like one mid way and then one for the outro.

really like the riff, except for the ascending part at the end of every 2 measures of the verse. great tone overall, with a nice mid-rangey punch to it. also the drums don't fit too well, but then again it was just a song idea so it's all good

Cool riff! I have gearbox and really like the octave pedal too, you got a good tone out of it here.

Maybe the reverb is a tiny bit loud on the lead, it sticks out quite a bit on the first lick. Great chops though!

Hahaha, that's funny. I only have like 6 presets with the RiffWorks software so it's, "Which is remotely close to what I want."

That's the EVH varivac'd Plexi model, easily my favorite model, the high gain models drive me crazy when i try to record.

I agree, not a huge fan of the ascending part but kind didn't know where to go.

I wish i could record as well as some of the people on here, no clue how they get such great sounds in there home studios.

Top Jimmy recording knowledge:
The one knob is at 11 oclock, the other is at 0, the level is at 12 oclock.

I don't know what I'm doing other than, "That sounds kinda cool, duhhhh."

nice! I love the octave pedal in gearbox, but I always end up using too much distortion and end up playing only deep purple stuff perfect strangers,black knight and highway star.... you can get a pretty convincing guitar/keyboard thing going.....

nice to hear a more original sound comming from it,good job!
