Heres the second part of my amp troubleshooting. Heres a clip I made of the symptoms if your interested. The beginning starts off with me taking it out of standby. Pulsing and intermitent crackling can be heard. The link is in my sig. Soundclick

How old is the amp? Sounds like it could be filter caps going bad.

Haha my little 10w does that sometimes..

apparently "the nature of the beast"... bull****, haha.


Um, check your cables, mine was doing it last night on low volume and it was the cables..

Usually if i have my amp up past half i need to turn the gain down a bit to stop it going into crazy noises like that and feedback.

The amp is a '79 JMP 50 watt MV.

At first, I thought it might be filter caps.....after hearing this I'm not sure. I would take it to a good tech for a diagnosis.
