Little 59 sounds NOTHING like a PAF!

Re: Little 59 sounds NOTHING like a PAF!

250K pots, for two reasons, 1) I read on another forum that the Little 59 was designed to work with 250K pots (don't know if that is true or not). And 2) 500K pots will not sound right with the Lace Sensor Emeralds that I have in the neck and bridge positions.

I can understand Pepe's confusion about you wanting PAF sounds from the middle position...you DID say that you have the Lace in the neck and bridge positions already!

Also, imo, you need to use 500k vol pot with the Little '59. You could rewire your Strat to be two vol and one tone. Or you could try using the Little 59 wired parallel. That's the only way I can stand it. Your experience with its tone is exactly mine...kinda muddy and NOT PAFish at all. Sounds much better in parallel.

Just an update for anyone who might care; after purchasing a Little 59N in the bridge position of this Strat sounds pretty decent, and similar to what I way looking for. The Duckbuckers in the neck (bridge model for more balance against the Little 59N in the bridge) and middle positions do not sound very good though. I'm selling the Duckbuckers, and I ordered two Kinman AVn 59 models for the neck and bridge positions. This should get me very close to Audley Freed's sound from his Cry of Love days.

Wait, you just said that the Little 59n in the bridge sounds "pretty decent, and similar to what I way looking for". But then you order a Kinman for the bridge position.

What gives?

I'm really having a hard time following you.

^ How do people find these threads.....surely nobody would be deliberately looking for old threads to merely bump for out of date info - I mean its not like you're 3 or 4 pages back into the archive and suddenly forget these are not threads with current responses like on the front page. You surely have to have done a google search for something entirely different.

Yeah, that’s usually how it happens.
A google search pops a relevant thread and you just plain don’t see the date on them.
I’ve done it unintentionally a few times myself.

^ So you just forget then - that you were most likely doing a search in the subject looking for an answer, so instead decided to offer advice in the same subject??

Re: Little 59 sounds NOTHING like a PAF!

Clearly you have a hair across your ass on this subject.
People make mistakes and do dumb sh*t.
Get over it.
And while you’re at it you could also stop contributing to this zombie thread if it bothers you so much.
