The Little River Community School auction is live. I've donated a DIY overdrive, the Little dRiver - a clone of the Lovepedal Eternity. PC board donated by MadBean Pedals, parts donated by Small Bear Electronics. Other parts, finishing, and assembly by your truly.

Check out the Little dRiver and the other merchandise donated by local merchants and school families, and read a bit about the Little River school at the website:

I'm also the auction admin, so your bid ends up in my in-box. Call me eBay Junior for the next 2 weeks.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

Most of the auction item are local, so we didn't really handle shipping needs in the format.

For those outside Potsdam/Canton, let's say shipping at approximate actual cost:

$5 for First Class
$8 for Priority

Outside the CONUS, we'll figure it out if/when we come to it.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

ok, so i get that the car is "drive" and the sound horn is "volume", but what kinda thing is a friggin' martini? is that really just the tone?:lmao:

I'm guessing some variation on "mix", as in "mixed drink".

Edit: Now I'm wondering if it isn't a 3 position, clipping selector.

The auction site said:
Handmade guitar overdrive pedal, the "Little dRiver". This is a clone of a well-known boutique overdrive. Bright, glassy, and dirty, this is not your typical Tube Screamer clone. True-bypass switching, battery or external 9-volt power, Drive, Glass, and Volume controls.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

The LovePedal guy calls the tone control GLASS. I figure if he can make up new terms for common controls, I can make fun of it with icons.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

Bump for the weekend. Auction ends Wednesday.

Sniping is ill-advised. I receive, track, and enter the bids manually, and I'm WAY too slow for that eBay-style shenanigans.

Bid is presently $30 - Get yourself a cool overdrive for a great price.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

It's A-LIVE!!!!! Got it debugged tonight (Make sure that +9V is getting to the board, kids!) and it sounds great.

I looked across the room this afternoon, and noticed this pedal, sitting on top of my (faux-Univox 2-tone blue) amp. Dayum, they look good together. Made me wish I could keep it.

Less than 48 hours left in the auction, bro's. Let's see some bids.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

Sorry. It's not a Catholic school.

BTW, I should make it perfectly clear that neither the pedal nor the school have anything to do with the Little River Band. Eewww.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

In response to kjrocks' question: a PM through the SDUGF is as good as an e-mail through the Little River auction site. That's the benefit of being on a first name-underscore-last initial basis with the auction admin.

Re: Little dRiver Overdrive - School Auction

And the winner is..... Bungalowbill! (mad cheering)

Thanks to the bro's who bid. The auction raised a bit over $1600 for the school, which doesn't sound like much, but they run things pretty lean there, and will make excellent use of the money.

The two best parts for me on this, the day after, are:

1) Other people will take my spreadsheet, and handle the job of contacting the winners, collecting, and delivering. My job is finished.

2) Joe's winning bid was a not-insignificant pile of coin. This may plant a seed in Mrs_S' brain, that pedal building is perhaps not a complete waste of my time and the space I take up on the craft table. Vindicated!

Thanks again to MadBean Pedals, Small Bear Electronics, and Bungalowbill for their generosity.
