Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

i like black better. i love tort guards but i dont love it with the gold sparkle finish

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

Black. Has class, but also rocks.

Tortoise I find distracting on the gold for this one.

Parchment/ivory would also be cool, have a retro vibe, but you’d need to change the knobs and switch tip with that. Gold pickup covers/hardware would be classy too.

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

Black, hands down. On this particular guitar, the black does not distract from the main finish and complements it better. In my opinion, the tortoise is just too "busy" looking.

If you're going to do it, overdo it. Tortoise shell for me.

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

I’m with Demanic. Usually not a fan of tort but the Goldtop
brings out the very similar color in the guard. Which do you like?

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

That black is too much black on the gold top, tort all the way for me. Black pearl or a parchment/mint pearl seem like they might be just about perfect to me.

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

They both look good but the tort is more visually interesting. I've never seen it on a sparkly hold guitar before.

Re: Little help here... which pick guard?

Well I ordered the tort guard because I really like the way my EJ Strat looks with it...

So it seemed like a no brainer, but once I went to install it I just couldn’t convince myself it would look better than the black.

How much more black could it be? And the answer is none; none more black.
