Livewire metal

Re: Livewire metal

I've had limited first hand exp. w/ them. But I can tell you this much. It's the heaviest most brutal pickup Seymour makes. There is no such thing as a clean channel w/ it.

Re: Livewire metal

Sound? Pretty good! but remember its a alnico pickup so it's will sound alot beefier (maybe too much for some) than a ceramic pickup like Duncan distortion, blackout bridge or Emg 81. The Livewire have the Alnico beefiness but still have enough clarity for drop tuning. In C, you will have a big sound but not tight like those ceramic pickups. For exemple, it will sound more like Lamb of God & Arch Enemy type of sound than Children of Bodom & Wintersun, OR a more Megadeth sound (duncan JB, Alnico) than Metallica sound (emg 81, ceramic).

Get it right, It's the heaviest most brutal pickup on the planet bar none!!!!!! No pickup is even close to being as hot as this bad boy! It is seriously stupid hot! On most amps, you will have to turn your gain way down from where you are used to it being. No, I am not exaggerating.

Re: Livewire metal

I have it in my baritone tuned to A and it sound ridiculous, most brutal thing ever :laugh2:

What if you could select between the ridiculously hot output and a more moderate output with the same tonality? Would that be a good feature?

I'm going to give this a try in the next week or so. (Holiday's and family, permitting.) Would this work about the same? Its just a switched L-pad.

That would be kinda cool to lower the output on it to a more "normal" level, but I love it because it's so ridiculous :laugh2:

What I really would like is a more matched output neck pickup, the classic is alright but it's SUPER low output in comparison.
