Lookin' for a gigbag...

for a strat that has some decent storage for a few cables and a pocket for slide, picks, strings, but need not be a Mt. Everest pack.

Any good ones under say 50-60 bucks?

Any junky ones that I should avoid?

why not a hard case? as for gig bags and such you can do searches on MF and similar sites and narrow down results by price range and stuff. i dont have a personal opinion on gig bags since i dont really use them

Storage and backstraps mainly. Just seeing what you guys have learned about any good/bad quality ones...

Try to find a G&L bag on the bay or c-list...they're the best I've seen come with a guitar. Pockets, two back straps so you can wear it like a backpack, and a hanger for a closet rod built in the back.

I've always dug Roadrunner gig bags. Dunno where to get 'em (I've always bought mine off CL).

I have one of these, and it's very nice. In your price range, too. It also comes in tweed, but I like the black one better because it seems to have more storage, and is a little cheaper. Plus, I'm partial to black, anyway. It has straps and a handle on the back.

Gator gig bags are worth a look. they're not too expensive.

ah yes my friend had a roadrunner before getting a hardcase. they get really nice in the upper end of the line.

if you want backstraps, gator makes "soft cases" or something like that. its like a hard case interior with gig back exterior so you get back straps and pockets and inside is a dense foam and plush shell for the guitar. I got one for my SG but ended up exchanging it for a hard case because the soft case zipper was hard to open and close and i figured once the zipper broke i'd be screwed. i also didnt find the backstraps that handy but thats just me

I have a Roadrunner for my Tele. Can be worn as a backpack, has plenty of pockets and keeps the guitar pretty safe. Nice and cushy. I think it cost me just around the $50-$60 range. It was purchased at Guitar Center.

I have one of these from Musicians Friend. It's decent for the money - 1" foam padding, a large and a small pocket, and two shoulder straps - for $30.

+1 for the Fender Gig bags... I even have one of the doubles that holds 2 guitars.

Good quality and lots of storage for a gig bag.
