Looking for 30 watt-ish Plexi style combo - got a big budget, live through my own G.A

Re: Looking for 30 watt-ish Plexi style combo - got a big budget, live through my own

Something that came to mind is the Ceriatone Yeti. A modded Plexi with an FX loop and some other cool features. From what I've read it has an era switch for Plexi, 800, and Modern.

Get one built for about $1000 (maybe less if you don't get the head cab) and get an 18 watt Marshall style cab to throw it in. Put a Celestion Creamback in it and it would probably be a killer sounding combo. ****, I want one!

The Carvin V3 is cool, but not what I am looking for at all. They sound too... stiff? Processed is what comes to my mind, but that sounds insulting. Just not the tone I am looking for really.

Snap, the THD is switchable to 20 watts. Didn't read that bit!

I am also looking at Granger Amps, www.grangeramp.com

The M50 model in a combo version, mainly.

The grangers are awesome. Give Curt a call and talk to him. He can and will build the amp exactly as you want.

I had a Carvin V3, and if you're looking for vintage tones I'd stay away from it. It does a very high gain, clear tone, better than a Mesa Dual Rec, but medium gain tends to be flat and sterile. It doesn't take dirt boxes very well as the clean channel is too clean
