Keep in mind, those amps are clean toned blues amps. Judging by your name and avatar, I'd go for one that can give you a great highgain sound.
I paid $425 out the door for my Vox Valvetronix head, and use it on a 2-12 or 4-12. It's the best practice rig I've owned, since it can emulate my tube amps like the Bogner, Matchless, and Fender. They never sound that great in stores, but once you take it home, plug it into a good cab, and dial in the amps with the 3 overdrive settings, you can get better tones than almost any tube amp at lower levels.
You can also use it as a direct recording amp, or use it with headphones. The variable wattage selector allows you to get great lead tones at barely audible volumes. You'll get much more out of that setup than a loud little clean tube combo!
