Re: Looking for a new Neck pup for my LP...down to 3

The big problem is that you have the RIO BBQ in the bridge. That is an ultra fat, thick, warm, and full pickup. I can't think of many neck pickups that would work well with it. Have you tried the 59?

I am sure these are all great pickups and I am not saying some are better than the others, but I put a 57' in the neck of my les paul and I am extremely happy. Just sharing that with you.

I like the DM Air Norton in the neck of my LP studio. Very smooth and airy yet articulate. Think Petrucci's early neck pickup tone. It is my favorite neck pickup.

thanks for all of the replies! I went with a Shaw PAF that was re-wound by Wolftone. This pickup is just what the Dr. ordered! Bright, jangly clean tones and sweet fat lead tone. The best of both worlds!
