Looking for a new neck

I'm thinking about replacing the neck on my SG. It's a bolt-on. Something relatively cheap but of good quality would be nice. Any advice on what I should get?

Well that first thing I would ask is what is wrong with the neck you have now?

Problem is that unless its Fender spec it may be hard to get a replacement. It may be 24 3/4 inch scale. I'd call Warmoth and ask their advice

Dido for Warmoth but make sure to measure the neck pocket to see if its fender spec or not if so then options are endless and you can find a replacement rather cheap but if not fender spec either call or email Warmoth or see if who ever made the guitar sell replacement necks or if they could tell you how and where to get one.

Re: Looking for a new neck

It's not worth putting much money into a bolt-on SG. The money's much better spent on a set-neck SG, and there's great deals on used ones that are easy to find.

^+1. I wouldn't spend more for a neck than the price of that GFS neck. If you want something better, just get a better guitar.

Re: Looking for a new neck

I've had good experience with Stewmac necks, however I think they just do Fender spec, Warmoth may be a good try but I believe they are also Fender spec only so your last try would be eBay, always be wary of the seller etc though.
