Looking For A New Tuner

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

I'm a happy polytune user I'd highly recommend them

btw the lighting on these is perfect in any setting it's the only tuner I could read on a bright stage outside

I've been using a pitchblack since when they came out. It does its job and is easy to see in a dark setting. It's accurate enough - guitars are never in tune perfectly anyway. Sunny stage though - fugghedaboudit! Good luck seeing that thing. I got it mainly for it's small footprint and true bypass.

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

I was just minding my own business and thought I might read some thread about Kam needing a new tuner. My Turbo Tuner should be here in 3 or 4 days. How the heck did that happen?

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

Used the Snark SN-8 exclusively over the weekend.

Fantastic! Tracked just as fast as my Pitchblack and seemed just as accurate as well!

I dig it!

$15 shipped...can't beat it with a STICK!!!!

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

I've got a couple of TU-2's as part of my pedal board set-ups, but on the bench I've got something by Korg, but couldn't tell you the model at the moment - I can't even find a picture of it on Google Images right now - I just know it's more than good enough for doing setup work.

It's a Korg DT-7 btw...

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

Hey, I forgot about this thread. Coincidentally, I just ordered a Snark today. I'm planning on giving my Westone a good setup this weekend, so I'll be giving it a good work out. If it's accurate enough to tweak the intonation to my satisfaction then I'll be patient and just keep my eye out for a Boss or Pitchblack to throw on the board whenever it comes around. If not, then I'll probably save for a bit and go for the turbo tuner over the next month or so.

Thanks to everyone for their input. :beerchug:

Re: Looking For A New Tuner

I like my new Pitchblack, which my bandmate got for me. But the best tuners I've ever used are Boss Tu-12Hs. I've had two of them, one of which I've owned for 20 years (and the other for about 15), and never a problem. They are user friendly, accurate, and well made. Unfortunately, they are not pedal tuners, but if you hook one up to an AC power supply, you can just leave it on all the time, and you can put a simple on/off foot switch going to the tuner from somewhere in your pedal chain, or coming from the auxiliary input of your amp.
