Looking for a replacement for my Line 6 Pod HD Desktop

I currently only use this for effects into the front of an amp for noise gate, od and comp eq
I haven't tried using the pre-amp models into the fx return yet. but I'm very keen on that option as well

I'm looking at an HD500X for $150, which I imagine is infinitely better but the thing is so embarrassingly enormous
I just want to have a few patches that I can switch between for different tones and some delay effects. I'm not interested turning effects on and off while I jam to drum tracks on YT

is there anything else that I should consider? or should I just get longer cables and stash the thing under my couch

The HD500x likely uses the same effects algorithms as the POD HD. I say if you haven't explored everything you POD can do, no sense upgrading. You can always get a small midi foot controller to select presets and effects.
