25's Nemesis
Which ones were made of pine? When did they switch to ash?
The stopped using pine around the time they started using truss rods.

You can get a CV under $400 all day
And it won’t need modded. The pickups and hardware are perfectly fine, and they have the sweet old school Fender tuners.
My Tele Plus is American, priced significantly higher, and I still miss the CV.

Tribute Classic?
The tributes are nice, but every G&L I've seen in the last year has been a boat anchor.
Ace, see if you can beat this guy up a little bit. Teles are hot now, but this is still overpriced. Samick made decent stuff back then,

I have been SERIOUSLY considering that.
My last Tele was a Samick/Valley Arts Ray Benson model. Awesome guitar.
- Qp style bridge, Hot rails with a split in the middle, and a Duncan Design 59/PG in the neck w/ 5 way switch. Cool little pearl guard.
Yeah...for $400....no. But at $350, I might jump all over it.
With shipping this should put you around $200-$220.

Tribute Classic?
Tribute is cheaper, foreign made.
classic is US I think.
I'm not going G&L.
Right now - it is between the Samick and the HB. For two bills, hard to NOT try the HB.
Why are you doing this to yourself?
If you wanna build, there's a guy on ebay called Rosser Guitars that sells pine bodies in a "distressed" lacquer finish for under 150. Add a rando strat neck and you're in business.
