That's what I'm finding out from reading all the info out there on the 80's models. It's bright as hell I know that, hence why the Custom Custom is the pefect pickup for it and the JB is too bright. I could really care less what it's made of, it's just nice to know, ya know. Man, I feel like a jackass about this...lol.9finger said:Erik. Being as it's an 88, I'd almost bet it's either alder or poplar. They used so dam much poly on them guitars, especially the grapic models, that it really added alot of weight to them. From what I understand, maple wasn't used all that often after 86. That's about the time the figured tops really started coming into play and it shot the price of maple up quite a bit.
