Looking for acoustical foam.

Anyone have any links? I got a chance to do some work on my ISO cab today and I am needing to order some for the inside. I need a total of 32 sq'. Who has the cheapest out there?

I'll do a thread as the cab gets closer to completion, but for now, here's what it looks like.

Re: Looking for acoustical foam.

You don't want "acoustical foam".

You want Owens Corning 703 insulation, or Roxul R6 Comfortboard. Both absorb a much broader frequency spectrum than the crap that Auralex etc. tries to pass off as acoustic treatment, plus they cost far less per square foot. And they're easy to cut, shape, and mount.

Check your preferred hardware stores.

Thanks!

I've done a little research, and I have seen people recommend not using foam for the same reason you say. I'll look into the Roxul at Lowe's tomorrow.

I build some acoustic panels from rockwool in a wood frame covered by burlap, and they work very well. It's very easy to work with (can be cut to any shape easily with a bread knife).

I use a drywall saw, which is basically a bread knife you buy at a hardware store :)
