Looking for pickups to compare with the Pearly Gates

I'm looking for pickups to compare with the Pearly Gates as far as tone and output are concerned. I'd really love to get a set of Pearly Gates, and I probably will eventually, but I need a similar pickup that I can get with a chrome cover. I know I can get one from the Custom Shop, but I really can't afford to pay that kind of price to have a cover put on it. I was thinking maybe a Gibson 490 set or BurstBucker set would closely compare, or maybe DiMarzio Air Nortons or some type of DiMarzio Airbucker with the new Chrome Tops option. I read on here somewhere today that DiMarzio's Airbucker pickups incorporate some sort of spacing between the magnet and it gives the pickup a tone that closely resembles an A2 pickup. Anyway, that's what I'm looking for, unless someone knows where I can find a chrome covered Pearly Gates.

Thanks to everyone in advance. :)

I don't think it's a full on custom shop job. contact Lew. I think it's like a 10-$15 upcharge.

Yep, Nickel covers can be added to any standard humbucker. Upcharge based on Duncan "Minimum Advertised Pricing" is $16.55 ;) ..... a personal inquiry to one of the dealers here on the forum might net you a little better though. Unfortunately the PG is already a more expensive pickup so the outlay is quite a bit for a pair. If it's what you really want though your better off to spend a few more bucks and be happy.

Ya. I really dig the tone of it in a poplar bodied guitar. Heard one of Stevo's songs with them in his poplar Tele, and I really loved it. It's what I've been looking for. :)
