Looking for some tube amp head for band

I have to get one 20 or 50 watt amp for mainly the band rehearsals... for different music styles, but mainly classic rock, hard rock, early heavy metal, some punk rock, and thrash. now i have Blackstar HT-5 but it isn't loud enough, even with 1x12 celestion v30 cabinet. but i love the sounds out of it, i play it now for four months weekly and it has some cool sounds, and it's versatile as ****. so i am thinking of HT-20 head for the band along with some 2x12 cabinet... there are some other cheaper amps that also bother me, like Peavey Valveking 50 and Randall Diavlo 50.... the thing is that Blackstar heads are much bigger than others... so, more space.. i look for some more expensive Engl Thunder and Screamer but i don't have enough money for it so.... then there is Blackstar HT-50 Head... what amp would you recommend me, i want one with enough gain and good cleans ? i am thinking of buying HT-50 Head or HT-20 Head and Orange 2x12 Cab... i can't deicide.....

The Peavey Classic series, not sure if there is a 50 watt head, but it would do what you're looking to do, though you may need some sort of overdrive pedal for early metal. The cleans are nice, not as pristine as a Fender, but a bit dirtier, sort of Malcolm Young type cleans (roughly). Worth a look. I think PV has the C30 in a head only version also.

A Fender black or silverface tube head with a versatile overdrive/distortion pedal is a decent option also. Some of the 40-50 watt models can be had in the $500-$600 range.

Ht-50 and an orange 2x12 is going to rock for what you need and be enough rig to meet your needs for a long time.
